Zone : ACCESS CONTROL- 2 Security Guards
Zone is located at the front entrance.

This is a two (2) Guard post with a primary responsibility of enforcing the access control measures of the facility and portraying a professional and thorough security presence within the facility.

This Security/ Fireguard's responsibilities include but is not limited to the following:

1. Detecting prohibited items or substances on residents upon entry into the facility. Examples of prohibited items include: weapons, glass bottles, drugs, appliances that must be plugged-in etc.
2. Stop the residents to check for their ID card
3. Make sure that they are not curfew violators
4. Detection of these items will occur through the use of a hand scanner, package X-ray machine and the emptying of all the contents of their pockets.
   ALL PACKAGES, COATS, JACKETS, BRIEFCASE, BACKPACKS, ETC, BROUGHT INTO THE BUILDING MUST BE PUT THROUGH THE X-RAY MACHINE. EVERY RESIDENT THAT ENTERS THE FACILILTY MUST EMPTY THE CONTENTS OF THEIR POCKETS INTO THE TRAY AND BE SCANNED FOR POTENTIAL WEAPONS.
5. Personal Cell phone usage is strictly prohibited and limited for work duties only
6. Announce the entry and exit of clients by bed number via radio.
7. Announce entry and exit of First Responders via radio.
8. For clients that are reluctant to place monetary items in the personal items tray for scanning, ask the client to place their monetary items into the pockets of clothing items or bags. Client’s hands should be free of any and all items while preparing to be wanded by G2.
9. Until the client has retrieved all his property after being inspected by G1, if need be, ensure that the next client in line is not having his items run through the machine nor is walking through the metal detector until the previous client has cleared G2.
10. Notify the Shift Supervisor of any visitors that arrive at the building. (Ex. DHS Liaison, Coalition for The Homeless, Law Enforcement, EMS, etc.)

Examples of unauthorized items and activities include: Smoking, lit candles or incense, any plugged-in Unauthorized electronics, drug usage or food, lighters or matches.

2. Ensuring all guests and visitors sign in the Guest Log book.
3. Issue guest visitor ID cards and retrieve the ID cards as guests exit the building.

This is a one (1) Security/ Fireguard Post that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Monitor client access to the elevator.
2. Monitor Dorm 8.
3. Monitor the elevator area.
4. Report unauthorized activity or non-compliance immediately.
5. Remain alert to unusual behavior or safety concerns.
6. Conduct rounds every half hour and scan assigned QR codes.
7. Document all observations in your DAR.
8. Periodically monitor the eating area.
9. Ensure that no residents leave the eating area with food.
10. Ensure the security of residents and staff.
11. Perform visual inspections of fire extinguishers.
12. Ensure no residents exit through emergency exits without authorization.

Clients at times vent to their case managers and it appears to be more than that. The case managers will be instructed to ask for assistance in the event the session is no longer productive.
If the guard hears the case manager state that the session is over, the guard should then escort the client out of the social service area.
GUARDS AT NO TIME SHOULD INTERFERE WITH ANY SESSIONS EXCEPT CASE WORKERS REQUEST GUARD INTERVENTION. AT WHICH POINT A CODE BLUE SHOULD BE CALLED.

This is a one (1) Security/ Fireguard Post that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Periodically monitor the eating area
2. Ensuring that no residents leave the eating area with food
3. Ensuring the security of the residents and staff
4. Visual inspections of fire extinguishers
5. Ensuring that no residents exit through emergency exits unauthorized.
6. Monitor Back Yard.
7. Monitor 1st Floor Bathroom
8. Monitor Laundry room
9. Personal cell phone usage is a punitive violation limited to work duties only

GUARDS AT NO TIME SHOULD INTERFERE WITH ANY SESSIONS EXCEPT CASE WORKERS REQUEST GUARD INTERVENTION. AT WHICH POINT A CODE BLUE SHOULD BE CALLED.

Examples of unauthorized items and activities include: Smoking, lit candles or incense, any plugged-in Unauthorized electronics, drug usage or food, lighters or matches.

This is a one (1) Security/ Fireguard Post that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Restrict access to the Social Services Office.
2. Monitor the waiting area for clients.
3. Confirm all clients have appointments or permission before allowing entry.
4. Maintain order and a quiet environment in the waiting area.
5. Monitor client behavior and report any issues to Shift Supervisor or case workers.
6. Prevent unauthorized loitering or gatherings.

Clients at times vent to their case managers and it appears to be more than that. The case managers will be instructed to ask for assistance in the event the session is no longer productive.
If the guard hears the case manager states that the session is over the guard should then escort the client out of the social service area.

GUARDS AT NO TIME SHOULD INTERFERE WITH ANY SESSIONS EXCEPT CASE WORKERS REQUEST GUARD INTERVENTION. AT WHICH POINT A CODE BLUE SHOULD BE CALLED.

This is a one (1) Security/ Fireguard STANDING POST that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Conduct frequent rounds through assigned dorms and bathrooms. QR scans every 30 minutes.
2. Ensure clients are safe, secure, and not engaging in unsafe or prohibited activities (e.g., smoking, fighting, drug use).
3. Monitor noise levels, lights-out compliance, and sanitation.
4. Report any issues to the Shift Supervisor promptly.
5. Maintain visibility to discourage misconduct.
6. Visual inspections of the fire extinguishers.
7. These checks should NEVER be conducted ALONE.
8. QR code must be scanned with mobile device upon entry of any room.
9. Assist Rover Guard and Staff with Dorm checks.
10. When assisting with dorm checks, remain at entry of dorm holding door open with a visual on other Guard/ Staff member.
11. These patrols should be logged-in Daily Activity Reports (DAR) and radioed to zone.

Examples of unauthorized items and activities include: Smoking, lit candles or incense, any plugged-in Unauthorized electronics, drug usage or food, lighters or matches.

This is a One (1) Security/ Fireguard ROAMING POST that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Ensure fire exits are clear and no tampering with safety equipment.
2. Monitor for contraband and ensure a safe, respectful environment.
3. Conduct frequent rounds through assigned dorms and bathrooms. QR scans every 30 minutes.
4. Ensure clients are safe, secure, and not engaging in unsafe or prohibited activities (e.g., smoking, fighting, drug use).

This is a one (1) Security/ Fireguard Post that is responsible for providing a professional security presence and the following:

1. Assign security posts.
2. Coordinate/communicate with operations command.
3. Respond to all incidents.
4. Generate incident reports.
5. Create & approve shift timesheets.
6. Conduct hourly perimeter checks.
7. Conduct vertical patrols.
8. Escort BVSJ Staff during COUNT or Wellness Checks.
9. Generate infractions.
10. Conduct Field Inspections.
11. Personal Cell phone usage is strictly prohibited and limited for work duties only
12. Ensure all staff are trained and versed in their post orders

Examples of unauthorized items and activities include: Smoking, lit candles or incense, any plugged-in Unauthorized electronics, drug usage or food, lighters or matches.

Post 1: Social Services Office Monitor
Location: 1st floor

1. Conduct vertical patrols to ensure guards are on post and executing duties.
2. These patrols should be logged-in Daily activity Reports (DAR) and radioed to the zone.
3. Conduct continuous rounds for unauthorized activities or items.
4. Patrol and scan ALL QR locations in the facility with mobile devices and follow any special orders given on scan.
5. Relieve floors for breaks.
6. Check DAR’s, ensure observations are being submitted properly.
7. Escort BVSJ Staff during COUNT
8. Personal Cell phone usage is strictly prohibited and limited for work duties only

Examples of unauthorized items and activities include: Smoking, lit candles or incense, any plugged-in Unauthorized electronics, drug usage or food, lighters or matches.
